Let's turn to the rear I/O of this board. This thing can overclock your memory upto 2400mhz and upto 32GB memory is supported. This board is capable of up to 3-Way SLI or 3-Way CrossFireX and Quad GPU SLI setup, thanks to the 4x PCIE 2.0 slots. The back of the board is a bit different from any other 990FX I have seen this board has additional VRM components and a thick metal back-plate for securing heat-sinks. The board is a Red and Black color scheme with some touches of white and gray. The motherboard is standard ATX board measuring 12" x 9.6" despite its long list of features this board contains 4 PCIE slots, massive heat-sinks, on-board buttons, and debug lights. It also includes a sheet of adhesive labeling for the HDDs and Odds Package includes a User Guide, I/O shield, 6 X SATA 6Gbp/s cables, 3 way SLI bridge, 1 X SLI bridge, 1 X Crossfire cable, 2 in 1 Q-connectors, a ROG cable(which can be used to tune and OC your rig from a tablet or a laptop). When we open the pack we get two separate boxes one containing the accessories and the other containing the "Beast". The beauty of this board took my heart away.Īs soon as we open the velcro flop we get a bunch of info. As soon as we opened the package it gave an eyegasm. This beast also comes with a good amount of accessories.

The ROG series boards are one of top series boards which Asus sells. Today we are showcasing the Asus Crosshair V Formula Z, an Asus Republic Of Gamers series Motherboard. Yes,you heard that right 500 million god damn motherboards and have earned the hearts of those 500 million customers who bought them. I will change CPU later. As you know ASUS had sold 500 million motherboards. I'm getting a new case and replacing my broken Motherboard. I'm going to put my 1090T so great news that you were able to use this with that. You will probably get to 4,5Ghz quite easily with a 8350 and the right cooling (4,8Ghz with something like a CLC if you have a good chip). One thing though is at those high voltages the NB/VRM heatsink can get quite hot (60 to 70C) you'd need to replace the thermal paste or put a fan on it if you're running it at high volts.ītw, do yourself a favor and buy an FX-8350 instead of a FX-9xxx and overclock the crap out of it. I'm running mine since its launch: first with a Phenom II X6 1090T 4,2Ghz and then my current FX-8350 which I have at 5,0Ghz (1,53V I think) during benchmarks. Great board at a good price considering it's on par with a Maximus V Formula (Intel).Ĭonsidering people are using LN2 with it, I don't think power delivery (burning) is a problem here.
